To fill our lack of family bonding, we went to the mountains--Mount Baldy, CA (It was no Mammoth, but there was snow and gorgeous landscapes.... but... Are you kidding me? Baldy?!).
We were initially going to spend the whole day there, but let's just say that for the one hour or so, all we did was slide down this 3 feet slope on a snowboard. For the record, my sister had a lot of fun and quite the daredevil. I took loads of pictures of trees, mountains, and... snow. My dad was the "snow-thrower" (not at people, at the ground...for friction?) My mom was the human-block (she blocked the person and the board from falling into this ditch of rocks and dirt-snow).
My little sister dominated the slope; she was some slider.
At first, I was "anxious" about sliding down a slippery slope (regardless of the length) and crashing into big, sharp, cold rocks. (Fine! I was scared!) But I actually wasn't as nervous or afraid as I put myself to be; my little sister was so ready to be "the queen of the mountains", I liked seeing her proud and happy. She liked being the older sister, as she sat in front of me (on the board) to make sure "I knew I was safe". (I wish I could post a picture of my sis, but parents won't let me). She's only 7, so it was quite cute.
I needed a break anyways.
P.S. I haven't played in snow since Canada, which was almost 8 years ago; I forgot how much I missed it. Couldn't make a snowman though... sucked.
