Graphic Scarf--worn as top (vintage), Grey Dress--behind scarf (vintage), Black Tights with Gold Sparkle (Hue), Motorcycle Boots (Calvin Klein), Silver Belt (little sis')

I was sick all of half of last week (still have the nose problem), conveniently during the teacher's strike. There's so much tension right now, dealing with the education cuts and all that. (I want to talk more about government issues, but I really don't want to give away false information or offend anyone.)

Anyhoo, I'm writing this research essay on a rather controversial topic that I don't want to reveal as I don't want to offend anyone. Really. Don't. Want. To. Write. This is the 100th endeavor that I have browsed through to ward off writing. Going back from facebook to blogs to facebook to email to looklet to lookbook to chictopia... yeah you get it.

P.S. I love the funniness of facebook. Now instead of going out on a Sunday evening, kids are locked up in their rooms on facebook talking about how bored they are and how much they want to go out. The only reason I'm not out is because I have asian parents.

The Short List.

I never thought that this would happen, but my outfit got voted onto the short list in Looklet's weekly contest! I'm so excited! (Despite the fact that it's of a t-shirt my mom would never allow me to wear as it shows Kate Moss smoking, boobs, and hands in her pants). PLEASE VOTE for me!!!!!!!!!!! I would buy you all chocolates if I could!

Black/White Top (vintage), Floral Shirt--worn as skirt (H&M)

Don't I look awful here. The only decent photo of me is probably the last one with terrible quality. Anyhoo, this is just a quick spring-inspired post with photos from a few days ago. Always very behind. I adore the checked collar on the blouse. I don't know why I started wearing that floral blouse like that. My mom complains that I never wear clothes the right way.

Lookbook #13

Is anyone as sick of the LBD as I am? (I get obssessed with things easily, but also get sick of them just as easily.) I realize that it is a forever classic... but sometimes it can get so boring (my honest apologies to Coco Chanel). Once in awhile, we need something lighter (a shade lighter), something more fun, young...
In comes the LGD. No need to quote me when this becomes the second best acronym in the fashion dictionary. ;)

On another note, I donated blood today! They told me to not be involved in any "vigourous exercise for another 24 hours"... oops. I guess I shouldn't have walked a half-mile to work, come home at 7, forget dinner, and do an hour on the treadmill. Oh well, I never was too great at following directions anyway.

P.S. I had this lookbook forever on my style.com lookbook account, but marked as "private". In fact, this was the first or second (I forget) lookbook I have ever created. So this is old. I just changed the settings yesterday and was very surprised when they put it up today. Glad that the Vogue people like the LGD as well.

Tourist Vest (Lauren by Ralph Lauren), Black Skirt (Kohl's), Black Socks (?), Brown Boots (Blossom), Black Belt (garage sale), White Satchel (second-hand)
Quick outfit change during the afternoon for a trip around the outlet. To be honest, I'm not a fan of outlets. Still fairly expensive stuff for outdated items. Thrift shops are 1000 times better.

On Me: White Blazer (Frank Lee), Tourist Vest (Lauren by Ralph Lauren), Army Green Trousers (made by mom), Brown Boots (Blossom), Black Belt (garage sale), Aviators (Ray Ban), White Satchel (secondhand)
On Sister: Pink Dress (DKNY), Black Leggings (Calvin Klein), Pink Shoes (?)
I wanted to separate the animals from the people, so here are my little sister's outfit and mine from the zoo visit. I look like a complete tourist... must frighten off a lot of people. Plus those boots, very clickty-clackty, despite the minimal heel. Unfortunately, if you haven't noticed, I don't a have a closet full of shoes. I have possibly 5 pair of shoes that are wearable for the public. I bought the blazer from the thrift shop for $9, the satchel for ($5), and the vest for $2! Unbelievable. What's also unbelievable is that I got laid off from that place as a volunteer. That's how good I am, one month there, and I'm fired. They say that it's not me, but rather the plentiful amount of volunteers already there. Crap, what am I going to do about my internship for my class? Luck hates me.
On a happier note, doesn't my little sister look darling. She gets alot of hand-me-downs from various friends. Fortunately for her, she gets rather GOOD ones. I love the ruffle detail and the color on the dress. I'm not a fan of pink, but this is the perfect shade for spring. Obviously, Eileen has much better clothes than me.

Since school started... yeah, you know. For some reason, I always procrastinate on the fun stuff. I always like to put them off, so when the great days do come, they're be RADICAL. Maybe I'm just setting myself up for disappointment.

Anyways, these spectacular animals are from the San Diego Zoo. Sadly, we didn't visit the giraffe, but the rest of them were wonderful. I say animals are so much more interesting than people, and so much fun to photograph.

Style.com Lookbook #8 Times 2

I have always been obsessed with solid color items with the most intricate details. I find them much more interesting than garish and ornate clothing with too much going on. Clothing to me is like relationships or a movie. There is a fine line between making up and breaking up or recieving an Oscar or a Razzie. Sometimes, when something with some potential becomes too outlandish, there comes a time when the stop and pause button needs to be pressed.

Black Blazer (A-List), Chambray Shirt (thrifted), DIY Black Skirt, Belt (YSL), White Satchel (thrifted), Dark Purple Lipstick (Mac in Hipster)

After taking these photos at nearly midnight (which explains my drowsy face and messed up hair), I couldn't find my camera for the life of me. Just lovely.
Did really nothing for spring break. When you have asian parents, basically Costco is your choice of a vacation.

Sorry about the last vanity photo, but I think it's ok to be vain at times. I used to be all self-righteous and preach all that crap. Now, I believe that it's really unpreventable. You get a nice shot of my hugeass lips. I used to hate them when I was younger cause my mom told me big mouths are ugly. I hated smiling (plus it made my eyes smaller). Ha! Try telling me that now.

P.S. The lipstick color is super dark (almost to the color of what Anne Hathway/White Queen was wearing in the new Alice in Wonderland movie). Maybe it's the lighting cause the color here is almost magenta.
P.P.S. Can someone refer me to a new photo-posting website? My photos always get cut off. Not entirely computer-savvy.

They put up my "Over the Rainbow" lookbook again. I love it when designers inherit all the different colors into one dress or item... the result is always so magical.

Remember You.

Source: by me, Jennie

I finally uploaded my little sister's portrait that I drew. I used pencil, colored pencil, and charcoal. She's much older now; the original photo was from an outing 5 years ago.

P.S. I went to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Ghostwriter. AIW was surprisingly touching, adorable, quirky, and a fabulous take on Disney's animated version. The new movie was more of a sequel than a Tim Burton remake. Ghostwriter was a bit twisted and very slow moving. It was one of the movies that is "too-smart-for-the-normal-brained". Acting was superb in both movies. My friend and I did sneak in to see The Last Song because SHE was curious. Miley Cyrus's overbite was much bigger than I could have ever imagined.
