A little bird told me that if I wanted to go far in life, I needed to act on it. The little bird also told me that if I really set my heart on what I wanted to do, I should prove it. And little "Tweety" here wouldn't stop nagging me every second Tweety gets the chance to, so I decided to actually showcase what I have.
I started a website in June 2008, but since it didn't work out so well, I decided to start a new one. (Plus, my dad was the one who secretly created the website for me showcasing all my crappy poems that I wrote when I was 11...) Since 2008 is ALMOST coming to an end, here's to a new start.
My name is Jennie. I'm 100% Chinese (I speak it, kinda read it, used to be able to write it, but slacked off since I passed my Chinese SATs.) I'm currently 15 and a sophmore in high school. And I CURRENTLY live in Aliso Viejo, California (small, yet new city... only 2 miles radius? built a little more than 10 years ago?) I was born in Shenzhen, China (and yes, I got my citizenship this year... as in 2008) I used to live in Canada, which was snowy and beautiful (but America held a "better future".) I have a little sister who is (currently) 7 years old, who I love and adore to death.
And I'm hoping to "land" myself into a career of fashion.
That being said, my style ranges from girly with an edgy... edge to punky with a frilly flair (uurrghh, I need to stop trying so hard... ;D). I love making adding a bit of modern to a bit of vintage. I fall for elegance, but I also think that childish details is MUCH needed. I, like everyone else, has to have a dark, rocker side, but sometimes I'll let myself settle for a preppy, schoolgirl love (*note to self* need to get myself a decent blazer!) As much as I fawn over designer clothes, (ahhh... a Marchesa dress... oh look! Rag & Bone outfits... GAH! Balmian's Spring collection! I've clearly gone to heaven...) I pride myself on finding the cheap and affordable. I get joygasms when I find a cute dress under $8, or some wearable jeans under $10. It's not about how much money you paid for the clothes, but how you wear it. Wanna hear my dirty little secret? Half of my jacket came from my mother's closet. Yep. (Adding a bit of modern to a bit of vintage... ;))
