Jesus, the Oscars are long. I have never watched the entire show before, (Well, I missed everything after the Best Actor speech) from the red carpet to nearly the end. I was not impressed at all by the dresses this year. Ruffles are nice...when done elegantly. The overwhelming amount of ruffles this year made me want to barf out glitter and Barbie. And I don't think I have ever seen so many black tuxedos in my life. Holy cow. I always thought bowties were adorable, but after seeing 40 of the same versions from different designers, I fear for men's originality. My favorite outfit would have to be Robert Downey Jr.'s suit. His blue bowtie stood out above a sea of black. He's probably the only man alive who can pull off shady sunglasses, a strange coif, and sneakers on the red carpet. His wife is a lucky woman.
